Today’s video is of an unboxing of the new 2024 Sterling Ink B6 Common Place planner. I have been in the Sterling Ink Common Place planner for 2023. I just absolutely have loved it and so I went ahead and pre-ordered the 2024 black B6 common place planner with gilt edging.
The planner arrived in a nice sturdy box. The inside was wrapped in bubble wrap to protect it from damage and water. Once I opened the outside box, I found a beautiful embossed quarter fold cardboard “box.”
I open all my new books and new bound planners using the method demonstrated in this video. Place the spine of the book/planner on a flat surface with the pages of the book perpendicular to the table. Open the front and back cover flat to the table surface. Proceed from the front and back, opening chunks of the book until the whole book is open. This saves the spine from cracking and opens it up evenly.
The Common Planner is absolutely beautiful! I love the gilt edging. The Tomoe River paper has that beautiful sound.
The planner starts with a few blank pages and then a quarterly layout. I love the quarterly layouts in this planner. I was in the Wonderland 222 for a while and I find the quarterly planning that so many planners are starting to include quite useful.
The planner starts in December 2024. The months continue until January 2025 which is quite nice! The monthly section is at the beginning of the planner.
The weekly section follows the Monthly section. It begins with January 1st with a Monday start. The weekly section is followed by 365+ blank pages. You could use one page per day with a few left over. I usually divide my sections up and do a sort of a bullet journaling type idea.
In the video, I compare a 2023 weekly spread with the 2024 weekly spread. The lines that separated the days have been replaced with numbers for the hours of the day. I kind of actually like this. It’s almost floaty and you could create a different weekly layout this page instead of the lined columns. I really like that and the grid is light. I know they said that the ink color changed but it’s still really light.
This package also contained a pretty little black envelope. It’s a nice little sticker sheet and a pretty coated “thank you for your order-Catherine” card. I put that in the front of my Moterm cover.
The Sterling Ink B6 Common Planner is very beautiful and I can’t wait to and start setting it up for 2024.
